BFF.fm – Best Frequencies Forever is a community radio station, broadcasting online from the heart of San Francisco's Mission District.

BFF.fm’s mission is to create powerful community radio for San Francisco. We want to grow a vibrant community of DJs, artists, and listeners all working together to uplift the underground music scene, because music has the power to unite people and inspire positive change. We aim to serve the community through a combination of live radio magic, new music discovery, and local engagement.

BFF.fm supports, mentors, and provides opportunities for Bay Area DJs from all walks of life to learn radio and DJ skills and is both a platform and community for people who love radio and may not otherwise have had access to it.

Our staff of 115 volunteer DJs are the people you stand next to at shows and ride Muni with. We’re your neighbors. We share the music we love on the radio because that’s what drives us, not algorithms or commercial interests.

We believe in the power of community radio to bring people together. Through the Internet we can be heard anywhere -- in office cubicles, cars, through headphones in the park -- giving people worldwide a chance to discover something new.

Station Governance

The BFF.fm board of directors guides the strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the station to advance our vision of building powerful community radio for San Francisco. The board’s leadership helps ensure that our mission, values, and our superpowers of positivity and inclusion are embodied in everything we do. Day-to-day operations are managed by Station Leadership, a working group made up of our committee chairs.

BFF.fm has five key committees (plus various sub committees) made up of volunteers who brainstorm, present, and vote on projects and activities that align with our strategic initiatives as well as cover day-to-day operational needs...in other words, our volunteers make cool stuff happen that improves BFF.fm for everyone!
