One-man metal wonder Fire at the Plantation House joins the show to talk caveman metal, his favorite San Francisco venues, and TWO SUPER SECRET SONGS you…
There are lots of reasons to love BFF.fm. We have extremely cute listening parties featuring special performances by Bay Area artists, interviews from the underground that you won’t find anywhere else, and the newest jams from local legends. But did you know that BFF.fm is your source for secret songs you won’t find anywhere else?
Last Sunday, John from technical/progressive metal project Fire at the Plantation House joined me on The Sunday Screeches to talk about extreme music in SF, his new single, and what he’ll miss most about the Bay Area as he moves to Canada. He also shared two deep cuts from FATPH history that can’t be found on Spotify, YouTube, or any other soul-sucking algorithmic hellhole – just BFF.fm.
For those unfamiliar, Fire at the Plantation House captures the best of the Bay Area metal scene: experimental, irreverent, and bludgeoning with a critical eye towards the injustices of the world. His latest single, “Tin(der) Foil Hat,” mocks Alex Jones-type conspiracy theorists through the horrifying scenario of matching with one on Tinder.
Forget the blood and guts of stereotypical death metal -- this is truly terrifying. It’s also entertaining as hell and ridiculously catchy, thanks to John’s mix of clean and growling vocals, high-octane riffs, and head-banging rhythms.
In case the audio isn’t enough, Fire at the Plantation House released a video for “Tin(der) Foil Hat” today. Content warning: conspiracy theories.
Listen to my conversation with John for more Fire at the Plantation House, his favorite SF metal venues, what he’ll miss most about the Bay Area, and two TOP SECRET tracks that you can only find on The Sunday Screeches.
